Bringing a new opera company to life is hard work.   But I’ve never been afraid of working hard and I am dedicated to my art – and I am not alone.

That’s the other unique thing about opera – you cannot do it in  a vaccum.  Opera by its very nature is collaborative:  we the singers work with other singers, other musicians, stage and lighting people, costume designers and even office people, marketing people and so many more to bring you the shows you get to experience as an audience member.

When companies start up, the members often have to wear different hats and that is true here at Hope and Anchor Opera.   I am grateful to be the artistic director but I am also the chief graphics designer, the musical director and sometimes even the chauffeur.   And I am lucky to have Nate Sykes, our general director here with me putting on different hats as well.   We also have a board of wonderful people help guide us with their knowledge and experience.

We’ve got some wonderful things planned for the upcoming year.  We hope you will be there as a patron or as a donor or as a volunteer – which ever hat you wish to wear.
